Nearly three years ago, Alliance India launched Pehchān, a five-year project that provides HIV prevention services for men who have sex with men (MSM), Transgender and Hijras communities.
India HIV/AIDS Alliance implements the project with assistance from the Humsafar Trust, Solidarity and Action against the HIV Infection in India (SAATHI), SANGAMA, and South India AIDS Action Programme (SIAAP). The Programme, funded by the Global Fund, is expected to reach 4, 53,750 MSM, Transgender and Hijra by 2015.
The Pehchān Project is operational in 17 states, with the NACO and State AIDS Control Society (SACS) funding the targeted intervention programs throughout India.
With support from the Aastha Parivaar, we have taken many steps to strengthen our program management and technical capacity. Throughout the year, we held a series of events and activities geared towards non-profit management and project formulation, project and financial management, resource mobilization and entrepreneurship, fundraising, and networking.
